"I was looking for a solution: As I grew older my teeth began to shift forward, crowding my front teeth. The lateral incisors began to turn sideways and overlap the central incisors, thus causing them to be pushed backward. Having always been proud of my straight teeth and smile, my pride began to diminish somewhat when I looked in the mirror. I could not grow old gracefully and accept it...I wanted something done!
I had discussed with Dr. John Moses, my dentist for over 30 years, the possibilities of braces to pull these teeth back into place, but I did not know if I could tolerate braces at my age of "middle 60's."
After Dr. Moses retired and Dr. Leo Uicker took over his practice, I began to discuss the crowding of my front teeth with him. At a cleaning session, Mary (hygienist), told me about the beautiful porcelain work that Dr. Uicker does. I asked her if he could possibly correct the problem with my front teeth. Mary encouraged me to ask him. Dr. Uicker studied my case and felt a cosmetic correction with porcelain veneers would be an excellent way for me to have straight teeth again.

It was fascinating to see how Dr. Uicker could make my crooked teeth into perfectly straight teeth. I wanted to hold the mirror and watch him work! "I wanted the twenty-year-old veneers on my six front teeth replaced for my daughter's wedding. My former dentist said I should crown those teeth rather than replace the veneers. I saw no reason to file away six perfectly good teeth.
